Call Reponses

Medical Calls

Around 85% of the β€˜911’ calls we receive are for medical emergencies. We have 4 certified EMTs and we’ll soon have 8 EMRs. Training is on-going and more volunteers are certified regularly. The services we provide range from patient assessment and preparation for ambulance crews’ arrival to administering IV’s and some medications to make travel more stable. We have helipads at 2 of our 3 stations to airlift patients to hospitals.

Structure Fire Calls

When we receive a page out to a structure fire, our volunteers respond to our 3 stations and can head to the blaze in 12 specialized apparatus. Our average response time is 10 minutes and we average 7 responders. We work side by side with neighboring districts to extinguish and contain the fire. Preservation of life and property is paramount.

Wildland Fire

Our District is part of an 8-department, county-wide task force who respond to provide mutual aid and support. Additionally, our FireCorps volunteers provide food & water to firefighters in the field and monitor for fatigue in order to provide respite care. Our volunteers consistently train to improve our response to these incidents. Every spring we hold a refresher course for responders to keep certifications current. We’ve just added a drone to our equipment to quickly locate smoke and fire sources.
